1. Preparation:
-
Clear the area: Remove any debris, loose gravel, or vegetation from the surface to ensure a clean work area.
-
Clean the surface: Thoroughly clean the asphalt surface using power brooms, blowers, or pressure washers to eliminate dirt, dust, and oil stains.

2. Repair and Patching:
-
Inspect for damage: Identify and assess any cracks, or other forms of damage on the asphalt surface.
-
Fill cracks: Use a crack filler or hot rubberized crack sealant to fill in cracks, preventing water infiltration and further deterioration.
3. Edging and Protection:
-
Edge the surface: Apply sealant along the edges of the asphalt with brushes and rollers to create a clean boundary and prevent overspray onto adjacent surfaces.
-
Protect surrounding areas: Cover nearby structures, landscaping, and other surfaces to safeguard them from sealcoating materials.
4. Sealcoat Application:
-
Apply the sealcoat: Use spray equipment to evenly apply the sealcoat to the asphalt surface, starting from one end and working towards the other, ensuring consistent coverage to avoid overlapping or pooling.
5. Curing and Drying:
-
Allow curing time: Give the sealcoat adequate time to cure, typically 24 to 48 hours, depending on weather conditions.
-
Keep off the surface: Restrict access to the sealed area during the curing period to avoid foot traffic or vehicle damage.
